Villa Angela-St. Joseph High School proudly inducted 12 students into the National Honor Society the morning of March 19.
The National Honor Society empowers high school students with the knowledge and skills to be transformative leaders in their schools, communities and beyond. The organization is based on four pillars: Scholarship, Service, Leadership and Character. In order to be considered for membership, VASJ students must have a weighted GPA of 3.5 or higher, be current with school service requirements, and have no significant disciplinary issues for the current school year.
VASJ senior Max Gembus introduced this year's guest speaker, VASJ Principal Gregory Sedmak. Mr. Sedmak is an accomplished educator and leader with over 20 years of experience within Catholic, public and private schools. He most recently spent nine years as the director of international schools in Belize and Benin.
After inducting the new group of students, all members recited the National Honor Society pledge. The new inductees then presented family members with flowers as a way to say thank you and recognize all they have done for them in their lives.
Congratulations to the following inductees:
